Dictionary Bird

Here is another card I made for Andy, and it was a thank you card.  You can see that the background I used was a page I tore out from a dictionary he gave me.  I never thought of tearing out a page from a dictionary but someone gave me that idea (James from Craftasmic, actually!!).  I'm not too good at distressed art as I didn't want to 'tear' the page for the distressed look so I cut it instead using the Nestabilities wonky rectangle die.  I'm just too darn neat in card making (but not generally, ha ha).  I then inked it with distress ink tea dye.

The bird is from the Stampin up bird punch which I also inked up with distress inks barn door and tea dye.  And the wing is another bit of dictionary page.

I'd like to have been clever and used a page that was describing a 'bird' in the background and tore out a bit of page with 'wing' or 'feather' for the bird's wing as Andy suggested when I gave him the card ..... but I didn't .......... I used a page that described 'diligent' and 'dim' which really wasn't quite as clever or appropriate :).   Ahh well, next time .....

Thank you for stopping by ...
